The Business Advisory Committee of the Telangana Legislative Assembly decided on Monday, December 29, 2025, to hold the winter session until January 7, 2026. The first day of the session was adjourned to January 2, 2026. The meeting was chaired by Assembly Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar and attended by key leaders including Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, Deputy CM Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, and opposition leaders. BRS MLA T. Harish Rao said his party wanted a 15-day session. However, the Speaker agreed to only one week and promised to revisit the issue later. He requested to make a power point presentation in the Assembly, to which the Speaker replied, "he would examine the request." Mr. Rao questioned if they should boycott the House as Deputy CM Bhatti Vikramarka once did when denied permission. Harish Rao also noted that only six days were allocated for Question Hour in the past two years and only 15 days of sessions were held this year so far. He urged the Speaker to form various committees and improve agenda delivery. BJP floor leader A. Maheshwar Reddy said his party requested at least 20 days of sessions to discuss 32 key issues. The Assembly session will resume from January 2 to 7, 2026.
