On Thursday, Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development P. Narayana launched the raft foundation works for the Andhra Pradesh High Court in Amaravati. He said that Amaravati’s construction is moving fast. The High Court is part of seven major buildings planned as iconic landmarks based on global design standards. The High Court design comes from the world-famous architectural firm Norman Foster and Partners. Mr. Narayana said, “With this globally acclaimed design, we have begun the construction of the High Court today.” The court complex will cover 21 lakh square feet and include 52 court halls. These halls will be on the 2nd, 4th, and 6th floors, with the Chief Justice’s court on the 8th floor. About 45,000 tonnes of steel will be used, highlighting the size and strength of the structure. The government aims to complete the High Court by the end of 2027. Mr. Narayana also noted that Amaravati's progress faced delays due to irregularities during the previous government’s term. He added that the current government is focused on fixing these issues and speeding up development without delay.
