Christmas spirit swept through the southern districts of Tamil Nadu, including Kanniyakumari, Thoothukudi, Tirunelveli, and Tenkasi. Special midnight masses were held in many churches, drawing thousands of worshippers. In Kanniyakumari, Rev. Nazarene Soosai led a midnight mass at St. Xavier's Cathedral, Kottar. Other churches such as Sacred Heart of Jesus in Nagercoil and Our Lady of Ransom in Kanniyakumari also hosted celebrations. Churches were decorated with bright lights and colorful cribs, creating a festive mood. Many people moved from church to church to see the decorations. In Thoothukudi district, a large crowd gathered at Sacred Hearts Cathedral for a special mass led by Rev. Stephen Antony. Our Lady of Snows Basilica also held a grand midnight mass. Other churches in the district, including St. Antony's Church on VE Road and Our Lady of Good Health Church, joined in with special prayers. Homes, business places, fishing boats, and shopping centers were beautifully decorated with Christmas lights. Tirunelveli saw midnight masses at St. Xavier's Cathedral in Palayamkottai and other churches. Over 800 police officers were deployed to keep the public safe. In Tenkasi district, hundreds attended midnight masses and special prayers at local churches. The Christmas festivities in these regions reflect the joyous and vibrant spirit marking the season across Tamil Nadu.
