Kalyana Karnataka launches Mission 40+ to boost SSLC pass rate to 90%
December 23, 2025
The State government has announced a special program called "Mission 40+" to improve SSLC results in seven Kalyana Karnataka districts. These districts have poor pass rates, with Kalaburagi at just 41.35%. The goal is to reach 90% pass results by offering remedial classes from January to March in government and aided schools. Students will be grouped into above average, average, and below average for focused teaching.
Teachers handling these classes will receive ₹1000 monthly. Each school will get ₹6000 to cover travel expenses for students coming from far away. A total of ₹3.44 crore is allocated for this project, funded by the Kalyana Karnataka Regional Development Board (KKRDB).
The region had a pass rate of only 52.42%, with 89,519 students passing out of 1,70,788. The poor results prompted this focused effort. 7,462 teachers will be deployed across 1,345 government high schools including Kannada, Urdu, and Marathi mediums.
The education order also requires the syllabus to be completed by December 2025. Special subject-wise classes will be held before school daily, with practice on model question papers after school to improve writing skills. Teachers will visit students who miss over seven days to help bring them back to school.
Group activities will pair students who struggle with those making progress to improve overall learning. This mission targets a big leap for student success in these lagging districts.
