A young man named Polepogu Harsha Vardhan drowned at the swimming pool of former MP Modugula Venugopala Reddy's house in Reddypalem village, Guntur Rural mandal. Harsha Vardhan worked as a swimming pool cleaner and fell into the pool while cleaning. He was rushed to Government General Hospital, Guntur, but was declared dead on arrival. A suspicious death case was registered at Nallapadu police station after a complaint from the victim's mother, Polepogu Madhavi. Guntur SP Vakul Jindal said, "CCTV footage from the premises was examined and it showed Harsha Vardhan falling into the pool and drowning as he was unable to swim." The footage showed no other person present at the time. The police await the medical report for further clarity on the cause of death. The investigation is ongoing.
