Kalady police arrested Alan, 21, on suspicion of murdering his friend, 18-year-old student Chithrapriya, whose body was found Tuesday in a rubber plantation near Malayattoor. The victim’s family identified the body three days after she was reported missing. CCTV footage showed the two riding a bike at Malayattoor Junction on the day Chithrapriya disappeared. The post-mortem at Government Medical College, Ernakulam, revealed severe head injuries and multiple wounds as cause of death. Police recovered two rocks weighing 2.5 kg and 4.5 kg at the crime scene, which they suspect were used in the attack. Officials believe the murder took place on Saturday night, December 6, 2025. Police said relationship problems might have triggered the crime. An Ernakulam Rural officer said, "Initial investigation suggests that the accused was driven by possessiveness, which prompted him to commit the crime. It appears to be a planned murder." Chithrapriya was a student in Bengaluru and had visited home for a temple festival. Her family filed a complaint when she did not return from a shopping trip.
