IndiGo's parent company, Interglobe Aviation, has formed a Crisis Management Group (CMG) to tackle massive flight disruptions. The board said the group meets regularly to monitor the situation and keep updated on steps to restore normal operations. "The Board of Directors of Interglobe Aviation Limited (IndiGo) met on the first day that the problem of cancellations and delayed flights arose," said the airline. The CMG includes Chairman Vikram Singh Mehta; Board Directors Gregg Saretsky, Mike Whitaker, Amitabh Kant; and CEO Pieter Elbers. This follows notices to IndiGo's CEO Pieter Elbers and COO Isidro Porqueras from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DCA), asking for explanations within 24 hours. A senior government official said action will be taken based on the committee's findings. The board assured it is doing everything possible to handle challenges for customers and ensure refunds. The crisis meeting and formation of the management group highlight how seriously IndiGo is treating the disruption issue.
