Australia has pledged another $95 million in military aid for Ukraine's fight against Russia. Defence Minister Richard Marles and Foreign Affairs Minister Penny Wong made the announcement, stating that Australia's total support now exceeds $1.7 billion since the conflict started. This funding, alongside New Zealand, will support the Prioritised Ukraine Requirements List (PURL), a NATO-led effort to supply Ukraine with critical military gear. The $95 million package includes $43 million worth of Australian Defence Force equipment such as tactical air defence radars, munitions, and combat engineering tools. An additional $2 million will go to the Drone Capability Coalition. The last batch of 49 M1A1 Abrams tanks gifted by Australia will be delivered to Ukraine soon. In a related move, Australia is increasing sanctions on 45 shadow fleet oil tankers that help Russia avoid existing sanctions. Marles said, "Australia is unwavering in its support for Ukraine. These commitments will make a tangible difference in Ukraine’s defence against Russia’s illegal and immoral invasion."
