Six Charged in Sydney After Police Find Loaded Guns and Stolen Vehicles Linked to Shooting
December 30, 2025
Six people, including four men and two teenage boys, were charged in Sydney after police found two members of the group travelling in a taxi with loaded guns. This is part of an ongoing probe into a November shooting in north-west Sydney, where police say two men fired shots and a stun grenade into a home in Tallawong.
A 19-year-old is already charged for his role in the shooting. On Monday, police arrested a 16-year-old boy and a 20-year-old man in Old Toongabbie. The pair, linked to the Tallawong shooting, were caught in a taxi carrying two loaded firearms and a special encrypted criminal communication device.
New South Wales police detective acting superintendent Brad Abdy said, "They were stopped by members of our highway patrol, and they were actually in a taxi. They were arrested shortly after they ran … We believe they were on their way to commit a further serious act involving firearms."
Later the same day, a 25-year-old man was arrested in Guildford with two mobile phones, one encrypted. He was refused bail and will appear in Sydney court Tuesday.
Police also searched a property in Rouse Hill, uncovering four stolen vehicles, five firearms, thousands of rounds of high-calibre ammo, fake number plates, and two ballistic vests. Three males—two men aged 18 and 23, and a 17-year-old boy—tried to escape but were caught and charged with firearm offences.
The 16-year-old and 20-year-old caught in the taxi face multiple firearm and criminal group charges and were denied bail. The three arrested at Rouse Hill also face similar charges and bail was refused.
Detective Abdy said, "This seizure certainly hinders that group and dismantles that criminal syndicate." Police believe the group works together and is hired to commit crimes for others.
