Cold wave grips Telangana with 11 districts reporting temperatures below 10°C on the mornings of December 28 and 29, 2025, data from Telangana Development Planning Society (TGDPS) reveals. Tiryani in Kumaram Bheem Asifabad district chilled to the coldest low of 6.1°C. Other cold spots include Kohir in Sangareddy at 6.3°C and Bheempoor in Adilabad at 7.5°C. The cold spread across the state with Moinabad in Rangareddy reaching 8.2°C and several other districts like Yeldurthy, Mominpet, and Pembi recording lows between 8.4°C and 9°C. Meanwhile, Saloora in Nizamabad and Ramagiri in Peddapalli touched the 10°C mark. The remaining 22 districts saw temperatures hover between 10°C to 13°C. Hyderabad’s Tirumalagiri area measured a minimum of 10.7°C, underlining the cold spell. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecast predicts temperatures will stay 2°C to 3°C below normal in parts of Telangana over the next two days. For Hyderabad and surrounding areas, the next 24 hours will have partly cloudy skies. "Fog or misty conditions are very likely to prevail during morning hours. Mist or hazy conditions are very likely to prevail during night hours," says the IMD bulletin. Day temperatures are expected to reach around 27°C, with nights settling near 14°C.
