Govind Balasubramanian Tops Karnataka with 100 Percentile in CAT-2025, Eyes IIMB Seat
December 26, 2025
Govind Balasubramanian cracked the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2025 with a perfect 100 percentile. He became the Karnataka topper and is set to pursue an MBA at Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB). A data scientist from Bengaluru, originally from Kerala, Govind has attempted CAT three times. He scored 100 percentile in CAT-2022 but missed an IIMB seat in the viva. Last year, he scored 99.97 percentile but again did not get a seat at IIMB.
This year, he appeared at the Bengaluru centre and achieved 100 percentile again. He said, "This time I will get admission even if I get a seat in IIMB or IIM Ahmedabad." Govind graduated in 2023 in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering from BITS Pilani K.K. Birla Goa campus. His strong interest in maths and logical questions helped him succeed in CAT.
He shared his future plans with The Hindu, stating, "After completion of my MBA, I would like to explore opportunities in product management and consulting. I also want to mentor students for CAT and GMAT exams. I have already started a community of students, where I will be trying to mentor them and my aim is to convert that into institution or online coaching."
