Candace Owens Criticizes Erika Kirk’s Leadership After Charlie Kirk’s Death
December 26, 2025
After Charlie Kirk's assassination, tensions rose within the conservative movement, with Candace Owens at the center. Owens turned her focus to Erika Kirk, questioning her leadership as Turning Point USA faces intense scrutiny and conspiracy claims. Owens said, “I think that when people are being buried and where they're being buried and how their funerals are done, that is very private matter.” But she accused Erika of having “Meghan Markle syndrome ... where you want privacy when you want it, but you want publicity whenever you want it.” Owens also said Erika has time to address conspiracy theories, but “it is just what she means to say: not her priority.” Erika defended herself, saying, “Call me names, I don’t care. ... But when you go after my family, my Turning Point USA family, my [The] Charlie Kirk Show family… no.” She stressed she wants justice for her late husband. Owens closed with a controversial statement: “this is why there are many people who do not believe that women are equipped to lead companies,” criticizing the emotional responses she saw as lacking logic. This dispute has grown into a major moment for Turning Point USA and the wider conservative movement.
