A 45-year-old labourer named Sobaran Singh was shot dead in Rashidpur village in the Kayamganj area of Farrukhabad district, police said on Thursday. His bullet-riddled body was found around 7 a.m. in a field, causing panic in the area. Sobaran had left home on Wednesday morning for daily wage work but did not return. His family searched for him all night. On Thursday morning, a villager spotted his body in the field. Nearby, his bicycle was found abandoned in another field. Kayamganj Station House Officer Madan Mohan Chaturvedi said police recovered an empty cartridge and bloodstains from the spot. The initial probe revealed Sobaran was shot three times - in the chest, waist, and head. The police described the killing as brutal. Sobaran Singh is survived by his three married daughters and a son named Ankit, who works in Delhi.
