December 25, 2025
On December 25, the Government Railway Police and Railway Protection Force arrested two men involved in thefts on long-distance trains at Secunderabad Railway Station. The suspects, 39-year-old Kokila Maniraju alias Raju Selvam from Bengaluru and 27-year-old S. Dina from Vellore, were caught near gate number 2 around 8 a.m. while apparently planning more thefts. About 210 grams of gold ornaments, valued at ₹25 lakh, were recovered. Police said Kokila is a known thief with four previous property crime cases in Hyderabad. Dina, facing financial hardship, joined Kokila about a month ago to commit thefts together. On December 2, they traveled on the AC coach of the Nanded Express from Visakhapatnam to Charlapalli. While passengers slept, they skillfully opened bags of two women and stole their purses containing gold jewelry. They then moved to another coach and escaped after getting down at Charlapalli Station. Cases under Section 305(c) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita have been registered for the two thefts. Investigation continues.
