13-Year-Old British Boy Stabbed to Death in Portugal in Domestic Violence Case
December 24, 2025
A tragic incident in Tomar, Portugal, left a 13-year-old British boy stabbed to death. The Portuguese Judicial Police are investigating. They say the victim and the attacker, who was the boy’s mother’s former partner, both suffered injuries from a bladed weapon. "Both the alleged assailant and the minor presented several injuries caused by a bladed weapon but, despite vital signs still being detectable, death was declared at the scene moments later," police said.
The boy's mother was found with signs of restraint and assault. Authorities took her to the nearest hospital. Police were called to a suspected domestic violence case. When they arrived, a strong smell of gas was noticed, which soon caused an explosion. One National Republican Guard (GNR) officer was hurt.
The alleged attacker had a criminal record for aggravated homicide. The family was already noted for domestic violence incidents in 2022 and 2023. The UK Foreign Office said, "We are in contact with the local authorities following an incident in Portugal, and stand ready to provide consular support." This sad event highlights ongoing concerns about domestic violence and safety.
