Four students from a private engineering college in Bengaluru were kidnapped and robbed in the early hours of December 21. The students had gone to Hoskote for biryani and were returning around 5:30 a.m. when a gang stopped them near Kada Agrahara village. The gang forced the students into a shed near Medahalli. They robbed three mobile phones, ₹40,000 cash, and transferred ₹1.10 lakh via a UPI app from the students' accounts. One student filed a complaint at Avalahalli Police Station the same day. The police registered a case for abduction and dacoity. Using the money transfer trail, police caught one accused and are searching for others. Avalahalli police continue their investigation.
