Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Municipalities and Housing has launched new regulations to improve private educational facilities. These include nurseries, kindergartens, schools, and learning complexes. A key change allows schools to have student housing on campus if built separately from classrooms. The rules cover schools on government land and commercial spaces to ensure safety and good urban design. Schools must have access from two streets, one at least 25 meters wide. Nurseries can be on a single street at least 15 meters wide if in a separate building. The ministry also set minimum land space rules per student: kindergartens need four square meters each, and bigger schools require five square meters per student. These steps aim to create secure, comfortable learning environments across Saudi Arabia. "Private educational buildings include general, international, and community schools, potentially covering multiple education stages," the ministry said. The rules make sure schools fit well within communities and offer safer, healthier places for children to learn.
