The seventh train set for Namma Metro’s Yellow Line reached the Hebbagodi depot in Bengaluru on Thursday evening. This latest train was sent from Kolkata by Titagarh Rail Systems Limited (TRSL) on December 10 and arrived on trailers. According to Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL), the new train will begin passenger service in early January after passing inspections and safety tests. Currently, the sixth train is undergoing tests and may start service by December 22. TRSL plans to send the eighth train set by the end of December. With eight trains, the Yellow Line will run trains every eight to ten minutes during peak hours. BMRCL officials said this will greatly improve convenience for commuters, especially during rush hours. The Yellow Line is a 19.15-kilometer route linking R.V. Road and Bommasandra. It was inaugurated on August 10 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and started commercial operations the next day. The line connects the southern parts of Bengaluru and the Electronics City industrial area to the larger Namma Metro network.
