December 18, 2025
A four-year-old girl was killed and three others injured when hollow bricks fell from the fourth floor of an under construction building in Chinnapannahalli, Bangalore, on Thursday afternoon. The police said about 10 to 12 bricks fell between 3 p.m. and 3:30 p.m., hitting a makeshift cement-sheet shelter beside the site. Many migrant families used this shed as a home.
The building owner, Srinivasulu, was reportedly working without proper safety measures. The deceased child was identified as Manushree, also called Paru, daughter of Shrishail. She was taken to a private hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
Among the injured are two children, Shriyan, 6, and Shekhar, 5, and Mamatha, 30, mother of the deceased girl. They are receiving medical care. The family lives in Bhoragi village, Sindagi taluk, Vijayapura district.
The HAL police have filed a case and said, "Action will be taken based on the findings, including whether negligence and violation of safety norms at the construction site led to the fatal accident."
