TVK Leader Vijay to Address 35,000 People at Vijayamangalam Rally with Tight Security
December 18, 2025
Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) leader Vijay will hold a big campaign meeting on Thursday, December 18, 2025. The event will run from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m near the Vijayamangalam toll plaza in Perundurai taluk. Vijay will arrive by a special flight from Chennai to Coimbatore. He will then travel 68 km by road to the venue. Around 35,000 people are expected to attend. To manage the crowd, organisers set up 72 galleries fenced with railings. Each gallery can hold 400 to 600 people. Extra security is in place to keep the crowd away from Vijay’s vehicle. Sixty CCTV cameras will record the event. Ambulances and medical teams will be on standby. Drinking water and toilets are available for attendees. About 1,800 police officers from different districts will handle crowd and traffic control. More police may join if the turnout is high. The venue is on the Salem-Kochi National Highway (NH 544). Police have arranged traffic diversions and advised visitors to use designated parking areas. This rally is part of Vijay’s statewide “Meet the People” tour, which resumed after an 81-day pause following a deadly stampede at a Karur rally on September 27. That incident killed 41 people. This will be Vijay’s first public meeting in Tamil Nadu since the tragedy. He will speak from the rooftop of his campaign bus. From the previous night, many party workers came to the site and took selfies with TVK leader Aadhav Arjuna. Despite advice against bringing children, many parents brought their kids and took photos. The event is set for December 18, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. IST.
