The Congress announced on Tuesday it will bring a no-confidence motion against the BJP government in the upcoming Haryana Assembly Winter Session starting December 18. This decision came at a Congress Legislative Party meeting chaired by former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda. Mr. Hooda said, "The BJP formed the government in Haryana by robbing votes. To achieve this, they resorted to tactics such as offering illegal inducements before the elections and creating multiple votes for a single person. Therefore, a no-confidence motion will be brought against the government, and its misdeeds will be exposed in the House." The party plans to raise many public-focused issues during the session. It will bring adjournment motions on topics like poor sports facilities, fraudulent voters, and misuse of government machinery. Other issues like saving the Aravalli range, compensation for waterlogging, pollution, drug abuse, corruption, education, and health will be brought up through calling attention and short discussion motions. Congress will also demand debates on the Assembly complex, the Sutlej-Yamuna Link (SYL) canal water dispute, poor law and order, and Chandigarh's status. This marks a strong opposition move to challenge BJP before the session begins.
