The Telangana High Court has allowed the auction of properties linked to a ₹516 crore deposit fraud by Dhanwantari Foundation International (DFI). This decision brings hope to nearly 4,000 victims, many of whom are senior citizens. The case started on December 23, 2023, at Hyderabad's Central Crime Station after a complaint by Susrala Narsimha Murthy. DFI, led by director P. Kamalakar Sharma and others, reportedly cheated depositors by using the Brahmin community's name and promising high returns. Police say the trust collected around ₹516 crore but failed to repay. Investigations found properties bought with the fraud money, including about 450 acres across Telangana and Andhra Pradesh and 3,000 square yards of commercial space in Hyderabad city. The High Court upheld the competent authority's actions and cleared the way for auction. This marks a key step toward relief for the victims.
