N. Vasu, former president of the Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB), told the Kerala High Court there is no written proof that the door frames of Sabarimala temple’s sanctum sanctorum were gold-plated. He faces charges in a case about alleged misappropriation of gold from the temple. Vasu is accused as the third person in the case under investigation by a special investigation team (SIT). His bail request was denied by the Court of Enquiry Commissioner and Special Judge in Kollam, so he moved to the High Court. Justice A. Badharudeen’s Bench postponed the hearing to Tuesday and ordered the government to present evidence. According to a remand report, Vasu said the door frames were covered with copper plates, not gold-plated copper plates. The frames were given to businessman Unnikrishnan Potti for repairs. Vasu argued he did not act intentionally but only forwarded messages from his staff to the board. He said, "I never recommended that a decision be taken in a particular manner."
