The Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) will give pulse polio drops to over 11.34 lakh children under five from December 21 to 24. GBA Chief Commissioner M. Maheshwar Rao led a virtual meeting to review the campaign's readiness. He asked officials from all five city corporations to make sure every child is vaccinated. Rao said, "Take necessary steps to ensure 100% coverage." He stressed the need for strong awareness efforts and ordered more mobile vaccination teams in crowded places like bus stands, markets, railway and metro stations, malls, parks, tourist areas, and slums. Students from nursing, medical, and paramedical colleges will volunteer to help. Apartment associations have also been contacted to support the drive. Chief Health Officer S.S. Madani said pulse polio booths will operate across Bengaluru on December 21 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Vaccinators will do door-to-door visits from December 22 to 24. The campaign will run through 4,452 vaccination points including 3,391 fixed booths across the five city corporations. This huge effort aims to cover all eligible children and keep polio at bay in the city.
