Former Revenue Minister Dharmana Prasada Rao, along with YSRCP leaders, strongly opposed the privatisation of medical colleges in Andhra Pradesh on Thursday. A month-long signature campaign gathered wide support across Srikakulam and other districts. Mr. Prasada Rao, YSRCP district president Dharmana Krishna Das, and youth wing leader Dharmana Rammanohar Naidu handed over a box of signed papers to party observer MLC Kumbha Ravibabu at a public event in Srikakulam. Speaking at the event, Mr. Prasada Rao urged the Chandrababu Naidu-led government to withdraw the privatisation decision. He said, "People would not accept privatisation of the newly constructed medical colleges in the State." He added that the previous Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy government had worked hard to build 17 new medical colleges to provide free medical services to common people.
