West Bengal has identified more than 57.5 lakh uncollectable voter forms as the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) enters its final hours before ending on December 11, 2025. This includes over 24 lakh dead voters, according to officials from the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) office. CEO Manoj Kumar Agarwal met with Special Roll Observers (SROs) on December 10 and ordered them to carefully check all entries before publishing the draft electoral roll. He instructed officials to verify voters claiming parent-child relationships by examining age differences and probing voter mapping to the 2002 list. The Election Commission appointed five senior IAS officers as SROs on December 8, along with retired IAS officer Subrata Gupta, to closely monitor the revision process and ensure no eligible person is excluded or ineligible voter included. The draft electoral roll will be released on December 16.
