Starting December 11, 2025, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in Dubai will close the slip-road at Bridge No. 7 on Emirates Road (E611). This affects vehicles traveling from Ras Al Khaimah toward Al Dhaid. The closure is essential for a major upgrade project aimed at expanding lanes and improving safety on Emirates Road. The RTA advised motorists to use nearby alternatives like Bridge No. 6 and the Khorfakkan Road Tunnel while construction is underway. This closure impacts northbound traffic that usually takes the exit toward the Jebel Ali–Lehbab Road/Al Qudra Road junction. The Dh750 million expansion scheme includes widening lanes and upgrading interchanges to reduce congestion and shorten travel times, benefiting commuters between Ras Al Khaimah, Umm Al Quwain, Sharjah, and Dubai. Motorists are encouraged to use alternate routes, such as Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road (E311), Sheikh Zayed Road (E11), Dubai–Al Ain Road (E66), and Al Yalayes Road (D57). These alternatives help drivers avoid the work zone while maintaining access to key areas like Jebel Ali, Al Barari, and Dubai Investment Park. The RTA confirmed the detours are designed to minimize disruption and ensure smooth traffic flow around the construction zone, which is crucial for the southern corridor of Dubai. Drivers are advised to follow RTA signage and plan their routes accordingly during this period.
