Delhi's Air Quality Improves Slightly to 'Poor' with AQI 291 on Dec 9

Delhi's air quality got a little better on Tuesday, December 9, 2025. The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) reported an Air Quality Index (AQI) of 291 at 9 a.m. This is in the 'poor' category. On Monday morning, the AQI was 318, which is 'very poor'. Out of 38 monitoring stations in Delhi, 18 showed 'very poor' air quality with AQI above 300, while 20 had 'poor' air quality with AQI above 200, according to CPCB's Sameer app. The CPCB classifies AQI levels like this: 0-50 good, 51-100 satisfactory, 101-200 moderate, 201-300 poor, 301-400 very poor, and 401-500 severe. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said the minimum temperature was 9.2°C, slightly below normal. The morning humidity reached 100%. The IMD also forecasted fog for the day. The maximum temperature is expected to be around 22 to 24°C.
