Flight disruptions continued at Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) on Tuesday, December 9, with 58 IndiGo flights cancelled. This was the first time since December 4 that cancellations dropped below 100. IndiGo cancelled 14 arrival and 44 departure flights. Major routes like Delhi, Mumbai, Goa, Cochin, Visakhapatnam, Varanasi, Patna, Srinagar, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Prayagraj, Lucknow, Bagdogra, Chennai, and Jodhpur were affected. Cancellations over the past week were high: December 3 had 31 cancellations, December 4 had 74, then it jumped to 155 on December 5. The numbers lowered slightly after, with 144 on December 6, 126 on December 7, and 112 on December 8. Passengers expressed frustration on social media. One said, "I have a flight booked for December 11 from Hyderabad to Kozhikode. Late last night I received a message saying the flight had been cancelled. This has impacted my further railway tickets as well as hotel bookings." Another passenger, Subrata Paul, said, "My flight from Hyderabad to Bangalore was cancelled today. Came from Ranchi to Hyderabad, now trying to book a bus to go to Bangalore." A third traveller shared, "I had a flight from Bangalore to Kolkata via Chennai. First, the airline changed the layover from Chennai to Hyderabad. When I landed at Hyderabad airport, I was informed that the connecting flight to Kolkata had been cancelled." IndiGo issued a statement on December 8 saying it operated 1,800 flights that day, up from 1,650 on December 7. The airline added it had processed ₹827 crore in refunds, with the rest to be completed for cancellations until December 15.
