December 30, 2025
Early Monday morning around 6 a.m., B.R. Nagaraj, 63, founder trustee of an education research institute and former MNC director, was attacked by six to seven stray dogs while walking behind Shalini Grounds in Jayanagar 5th Block. "There were over six to seven dogs that suddenly attacked me without any provocation. Two dogs bit my right leg and as a result I fell down and injured my shoulder. I somehow got out of it," Mr. Nagaraj told The Hindu. Unable to drive, he took a cab to the hospital and is now undergoing multiple anti-rabies injections. Mr. Nagaraj filed a complaint with Jayanagar Police, who registered a non-cognizable report. He urged civic authorities to relocate such aggressive stray dogs to prevent future incidents, especially for the safety of senior citizens and frequent walkers in the area.
