Kozhikode is set for a lively New Year Eve with events like musical nights, fireworks, and family dinners. To keep things safe, city police have increased patrols on State and national highways. Officials are cracking down on illegal racing and drunk driving, supported by more CCTV cameras at busy spots. Vehicles won’t be allowed near Kozhikode beach after 5 p.m. on December 31, except emergency vehicles and those going to Government Beach Hospital. Traffic will also be rerouted on parts of Kannur Road. Hotels and malls are ready for the big night with varied programmes. Malabar Palace offers a calm dinner with live music by singer Maathan. N. Shonima, guest relations executive, said, "We are consciously keeping the programme relaxed and family-oriented. While many New Year events are centred around loud DJ parties, we wanted to offer something different." Hotel Paramount Tower’s event ‘Enigma 2026’ features dinner, shows, children’s activities, and DJ music, hosted by TV stars Maneesh and Reshmi. General manager Ragesh M. explained, "We have also focussed heavily on desserts because, rightly, the New Year should begin on a sweet note." Le Chicago and Raviz Kadavu hotel offer DJ parties aimed at youth, with live band Paattu Company and DJ Shaiflai among the performers. Praveen Kumar, director of Sales at Raviz Kadavu, promised "an unforgettable experience with the best service." Hotel Dimora has planned a buffet with over 60 dishes plus live music and games for families. Sales manager Midhun Raj said, "We designed this event as a safe, warm, and inclusive celebration where guests of all ages can relax, enjoy engaging activities, and create meaningful memories together."
