Visa Delays Stall Indian H-1B Workers, US Firms Hire Americans, Says Expert

Immigration expert Rosemary Jenks said many Indian H-1B workers are stuck in India due to long visa appointment delays. "Indians make up about 70% of H-1Bs," she said on Steve Bannon's show. She called the delays and social media vetting "perfectly reasonable and rational." Jenks noted that no one in the US is feeling sorry for these workers because some employers have stopped waiting and started hiring Americans instead. "This would be a perfect time to say 'okay we are done, no more,'" she supported Bannon's call for a 10-year immigration moratorium. The Indian government has raised concerns about visa delays with the US, but visa appointments are now scheduled for late 2026 and 2027, affecting many hopeful workers.
