Nalin Haley, son of former US ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley, posted on X urging Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to attend a Christian Mass while visiting the United States. Haley, 24, said, “If you really want to show solidarity with the United States and the Christian community, you should attend Mass while in America. It’s the least you could do since all our politicians visit the wall while in Israel. Mass is open to everyone, consider it. Christ is King.” The post came after Netanyahu announced a meeting with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio in Florida. Nalin mentioned that American politicians often visit Jerusalem’s Western Wall during Israel trips. Nalin Haley, who is of Indian origin, opposes H1-B visas and immigration. His grandparents were Sikh, and his parents are Protestant Christians. He recently declared himself Catholic after researching religion deeply. He said, “When I did that, I felt as though anyone who does that kind of research will walk away a Catholic.” The phrase “Christ is King” used by Haley is popular among evangelical Americans but has also been linked with some extremist groups. Haley supports strong conservative views, even calling for deportation of “illegal aliens,” despite his immigrant background. In related political-religious news, JD Vance recently said America is and always will be a Christian nation at a TurningPoint USA event. Vance’s comment sparked controversy due to his marriage to Usha, a brown Hindu Indian woman, drawing criticism about his stance on promoting a single religion.
