Telangana DCA Raids Unqualified Doctor in Karimnagar, Seizes Medicines Worth ₹15,011

On Saturday, December 27, Telangana Drugs Control Administration (DCA) officials raided Laxmi First Aid Centre in Karimnagar. K. Laxminarayana was found practicing medicine without the required qualifications. During the raid, the DCA found 39 varieties of medicines without a valid drug licence. Of these, 35 were physician’s samples including antibiotics, painkillers, and anti-ulcer drugs. The total value of the seized medicines was ₹15,011. Several antibiotics such as Cefixime, Ofloxacin, Cloxacillin, Amoxycillin, and Azithromycin were detected at the clinic. The DCA warned that "the indiscriminate sale and use of antibiotics by unqualified persons could have serious public health consequences, including the emergence and spread of antimicrobial resistance."
