Delhi Air Quality Worsens: AQI Hits 392, Anand Vihar Records Severe Pollution

On Sunday morning, December 28, 2025, Delhi's air quality was in the "very poor" category with an Air Quality Index (AQI) of 392, said the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB). The CPCB's Sameer app data showed 19 monitoring stations reported "severe" pollution. Anand Vihar had the highest AQI at 444. Other stations showed "very poor" levels. According to CPCB, AQI between 0-50 is "good", 51-100 "satisfactory", 101-200 "moderate", 201-300 "poor", 301-400 "very poor", and 401-500 "severe". The minimum temperature was 6.3° Celsius, half a degree below the seasonal average. Humidity stood at 71% at 8:30 a.m., said the India Meteorological Department. The day’s maximum temperature is expected near 21° Celsius with mainly clear skies forecast.
