Sapna Book House Launches 70 Kannada Titles Across Karnataka to Celebrate Rajyotsava
December 27, 2025
Sapna Book House, a top name in books, made a big statement on December 27 by launching 70 Kannada books. The event took place at its Mysuru branch and outlets in many Karnataka cities like Bengaluru, Mangaluru, and Hubballi. Writer and critic Pradhan Gurudutt praised Sapna Book House for its strong role in promoting Kannada literature. He said, “Very few institutions can match its sustained output. What it does more is propagate literature rather than the business of publishing and selling. It has been known for the quality of its books.”
Publishing 70 books at once is a huge task, involving coordination with writers, editors, and printers. Mr. Gurudutt added, “Such an exercise itself reflects the institutional strength and commitment of the publishers.” The launch celebrated the 70th Karnataka Rajyotsava. The books cover many genres and include works from senior and new Kannada writers from across the State.
Sapna Book House has played a key role in growing Karnataka’s book industry by releasing many Kannada titles during Rajyotsava each year, often honoring authors and offering discounts to readers. The company said few Indian institutions have dared to publish so many books in one language at the same time. The goal is to make Kannada books easily available and to strengthen Kannada as a language for everyday use.
Kannada books were sold at discount prices in all 24 Sapna Book House outlets across Karnataka throughout November as part of the celebrations. The December 27 event was a formal launch ceremony to honour authors and highlight their contributions. The company stressed the event’s reach by launching the 70 books simultaneously across its major city branches including Mysuru, Bengaluru, Hassan, Kalaburagi, Belagavi, and Davangere.
The launch event was attended by scholar T.V. Venkatachala Sastry, Maddikere Gopal, president of Mysuru District Kannada Sahitya Parishat, and others. Sapna Book House continues its dedication to Kannada literature with this grand milestone.
