Muscat Launches Masar Food Truck Site in Al Mawaleh to Boost Street Food Business
December 27, 2025
Muscat Municipality has launched a new food truck site in Al Mawaleh. This is part of its "Masar" initiative, aimed at supporting small and medium enterprises and organising street food vending across the city. The site offers legal, fully serviced spaces for food truck operators to grow their businesses safely and reliably. The project fixes problems like no approved vending spots and lack of infrastructure. It provides parking for food trucks, shaded seating for customers, and access to utilities. This helps improve visitor experience and urban order by reducing roadside vending and easing traffic. Sohar International contributed strongly, giving 25 fully equipped food trucks to help entrepreneurs start without big investment. This partnership between the municipality and Sohar International shows a public-private effort to boost the SME sector while bringing order to street vending. The Masar food truck site aims to help small food businesses grow and make Muscat’s streets safer and more enjoyable for everyone.
