Telangana Housing Board Imposes 5-Year Lock on LIG Flats in Gachibowli, Khammam, Warangal

The Telangana Housing Board announced a five-year lock on sale, transfer, lease, mortgage or any encumbrance on its Lower Income Group (LIG) flats in Gachibowli, Khammam, and Warangal. Applicants must pay a ₹1 lakh token advance during application. Winners selected by lucky draw will pay the full amount in three installments: 25% within 15 days of intimation, 50% within 60 days of allotment, and the remaining 25% within 90 days.
There are 339 LIG flats for people earning less than ₹50,000 monthly: 111 near AIG Hospitals in Gachibowli, 102 near Warangal Railway Station, and 126 in Khammam’s Sri Ram Hills. Flats range from 450 to 650 square feet and prices vary by location.
The Housing Board's Executive Engineer, K. Ankamma Rao, said, "We have been receiving hundreds of calls every day regarding the flats." Many people have visited the sites after the announcement.
The Board will issue a No Objection Certificate (NOC) for bank loans, subject to bank approval. Upon registration, the sale deed will be sent directly to the bank or financial institution.
