The incident happened on December 21 near Langar Circle in the Dumas area. A viral video showed Deepak Ijardar stopping vehicles and setting off firecrackers on a public road. The road near a post office, close to his home in Sultanabad, was filled with firecrackers, causing trouble for commuters. After the video gained attention on social media, police took action. The Dumas police registered a case and arrested Deepak Ijardar. He was later released on bail. Police stated that the celebration violated a notification by the Police Commissioner, as firecrackers on a public road caused inconvenience. A case was filed under Section 223 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, dealing with disobedience to orders from public servants. The police emphasized the importance of following rules to keep public roads safe and traffic flowing smoothly.
