Delhi Court Extends Judicial Custody of Seven Accused in Red Fort Blast Case till Jan 8
December 24, 2025
On December 24, 2025, a Delhi court extended the judicial custody of seven accused in the Red Fort blast case by 15 days. The accused—Adeel Rather, Muzammil Ganaie, Shaheen Saeed, Maulvi Irfan Ahmed Wagay, Jasir Bilal Wani, Amir Rashid Ali, and Soyab—were sent to judicial custody till January 8, 2026. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) brought the accused to Patiala House Court under tight security after their previous custody terms expired. Media was barred from coverage during the proceedings. Earlier, doctors Naseer Bilal Malla and others, including Wagay, were sent to 12 days judicial custody starting December 12. Ali and Wani received 14-day custody on December 10, while Soyab was held for five days from December 19. The NIA revealed the accused are part of a sophisticated terror module led by doctors, actively searching for a suicide bomber since last year. Umar-un-Nabi, the alleged chief planner, drove the explosive-laden Hyundai i20 that detonated near the Red Fort on November 10. Ali was arrested on November 16 for helping acquire the car used as a vehicle bomb. Wani was arrested on November 17 for providing technical aid, including drone modifications and rocket attempts. Wani admitted meeting the “doctor module” last year in Kashmir's Kulgam. Soyab was arrested on November 26 for aiding Umar-un-Nabi logistically. Dr. Naseer Bilal Malla was arrested on December 9 for sheltering Umar-un-Nabi and destroying evidence. On December 18, Yasir Ahmad Dar, a close Umar-un-Nabi associate, was arrested for active conspiracy involvement and vows of self-sacrificial attacks. This high-profile terror case remains under intense investigation.
