South Bengal Minimum Temperatures to Fall by 2-3°C from December 25, IMD Forecasts

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) announced a drop in night temperatures by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius in south Bengal districts from Thursday, December 25, 2025. The IMD also said, “Night temperatures in north Bengal districts will fall by two notches at a few places.” Dry weather is expected over all Bengal districts for the next seven days. The IMD added, “Shallow to moderate fog is likely at one or two places over all districts during the morning hours.” Darjeeling hill town recorded the lowest minimum temperature in the state on December 24 at 4.8°C. Alipurduar recorded the lowest minimum temperature in the plains at 9°C. Other places with low night temperatures include Sriniketan (10°C), Kalimpong (10.5°C), Bardhaman (11°C), and Baharampur (11°C). Kolkata’s minimum temperature stood at 14.9°C.
