On December 23, 2025, Telangana's Drugs Control Administration (DCA) raided Mediblue Healthcare Private Limited at the Medical Devices Park in Sultanpur, Sangareddy district. The DCA found the company making Risk Class B medical devices without a mandatory licence. These devices included Dialysis Kits (Sterile EO), Sterile Surgical Gowns, and Sterile Eye Drapes. Large stocks ready for sale were seized, valued at ₹1.70 lakh. Risk Class B devices are low-to-moderate risk but must be strictly regulated as they contact patients directly. According to the Medical Devices Rules, 2017, a valid licence is required to manufacture these. The DCA said the operation without licence is illegal and punishable under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act. "Manufacturing medical devices without the requisite licence is a punishable offence under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, carrying a penalty of imprisonment of up to 5 years," stated their press release. Further investigation and legal action against those involved are underway.
