Beypore International Water Festival Kicks Off Dec 26 with Yacht Trials and Cultural Shows
December 23, 2025
The fifth Beypore International Water Festival begins on December 26 and runs until December 28. The event will take place at Beypore Marina and six other locations across the Beypore Assembly Constituency. Minister for Tourism P.A. Mohamed Riyas announced the festival on December 22, 2025. A new yacht service between Kozhikode and Beypore, set to launch officially in January, will have trial runs during the festival. To avoid overcrowding, the festival is spread over multiple sites due to ongoing construction at the Cheruvannur overbridge. This year, local talent gets center stage with cultural shows by senior citizens replacing celebrity acts. Women, Kudumbashree workers, residents’ groups, differently-abled individuals, and students will be involved heavily. Evening cultural programs will be held at Oceanus Chaliyam, Nallur Mini Stadium, Mullaveettil Abdurahman Park at Rahman Bazar, Cheruvannur We Park, Nallalam We Park, and Beypore Marina. Exciting water and adventure sports will run for three days at Beypore Marina. Activities include sailing, country boat races, flyboard and paramotor demonstrations, surfing, bumper boat rides, dinghy boat races, net-throwing contests, treasure hunts, stand-up paddleboarding, kayaking, angling, and dragon boat races. The kite festival features flyers from five countries and will be held at Beypore beach. Visitors can tour Navy and Coast Guard ships during the event. A responsible tourism expo is set in the Nallur Mini Stadium showcasing products from the Integrated Responsible Tourism Project of Beypore. Theatre performances will take place at Government UP School, Ramanattukara. The food festival runs December 25 to 29 at Parison Ground, Beypore. Additional events include a cycle rally from Kozhikode to Beypore on December 25 and a marathon from Chaliyam to Beypore on December 28. Pre-festival beach sports such as kabaddi, volleyball, and football are scheduled for December 22, 23, and 24. Kalaripayattu, chess, karate, and other martial arts demonstrations are also planned. This grand festival aims to highlight Beypore as a vibrant tourism destination.
