A personal security officer for the Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA) Commissioner tried to kill himself using his service pistol at his home in Hayathnagar Sunday morning. The officer, Mutyalapayti Krishna Chaitanya, 32, an Armed Reserve Constable, shot himself in the head around 6:30 a.m. He was rushed to Kamineni Hospital, L.B. Nagar, in a comatose state. Doctors found severe skull and brain fractures. Emergency surgery was done, and he remains in intensive neurocritical care. Police believe financial trouble from losses in online betting and gaming apps caused the attempt. A case is open, and investigations continue. The Hayathnagar police are probing the exact reasons.
