Bagalkot police detained a couple running the Divya Jyoti School for Differently Abled Children after a disturbing video went viral. The clip, showing a differently abled boy being beaten and treated badly, is said to have happened three months ago but surfaced on social media Saturday. The boy’s father filed a complaint, prompting an FIR. Superintendent of Police Siddharth Goyal said the couple, Akshay (35) and Anandi (34), are in police custody for questioning. "We are also in the process of questioning the personnel who work as caretakers in the school," he added. A staff member, reportedly removed from service, shared the video with the boy’s parents. After the video spread, a crowd gathered at the school in Sector 54, Navanagar, Bagalkot. Police struggled to control the crowd. The investigation is ongoing.
