The Hyderabad Disaster Response & Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA) removed several illegal buildings blocking a 50-foot wide public road in Arvind Enclave, Medchal-Malkajgiri district, on Saturday. A local resident had built a wall blocking the road, leading to constructions on the other side as well. Despite repeated complaints, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation did not act. Residents told HYDRAA through the Praja Vani programme that because of the wall, they had to take a 1 km detour to reach the main road, which is just 100 metres away. This issue had persisted for 15 years before HYDRAA intervened. HYDRAA chief A.V. Ranganath inspected the site and instructed officials to remove the obstacles. The action brings relief to the colony residents who have long struggled with the blockages.
