Yadgir’s new district and sessions court complex will soon have an emergency healthcare centre. This centre will serve advocates, litigants, and court staff for urgent health needs. The complex, built on 10 acres and costing ₹32 crore, has eight court halls, including for the principal and additional district judges. It also includes a bar association building, parking, a canteen, and washrooms. Chief Justice Vibhu Bakhru inaugurated the complex on September 19. All courts inside are now working. Yet, the complex currently lacks a health centre for the elderly and others who may face health issues there. Principal District and Sessions Judge Marulasiddaradhya said, “It has been planned to set up a health centre to extend emergency healthcare to the people, including litigants, advocates and court staff.” He added talks will begin soon with the concerned department to create this facility. Meanwhile, the old court building in the city centre, which is in good shape apart from some minor repairs, will be used for the Consumer Dispute Redressal Forum and other offices. Mr. Marulasiddaradhya noted, “There is a proposal to establish a consumer court on the premises. There is also another proposal to establish a Lok Ayukta office in another portion of the building.” Decisions on these will be taken shortly. For public convenience, the Kalyana Karnataka Road Transport Corporation runs local buses from the central bus stand to the new court complex via key city points and the Yadgir Institute of Medical Sciences (YIMS).
