Three Maoists Killed in Sukma Encounter, Including a Woman

Three Maoists, including a woman, were killed in an encounter with security forces in Chhattisgarh's Sukma district on Thursday, December 18, 2025. The exchange of fire began in the morning on a forested hill in Golapalli police station area. A District Reserve Guard team was conducting a search operation after receiving information about Maoist presence there. Sukma Superintendent of Police Kiran Chavan told PTI, "The bodies of three Maoists, including a woman, have been recovered from the encounter site so far." The operation is still ongoing, and further details are awaited. This incident raises the total Maoists killed in Chhattisgarh this year to 284. Out of these, 255 were eliminated in the Bastar division, which includes seven districts such as Sukma, Bijapur, and Dantewada. Additionally, 27 Maoists were killed in Gariaband district of Raipur division, and two were killed in Mohla-Manpur-Ambagarh Chowki district in Durg division.
