Bengaluru police caught three people selling ganja in two raids this December. On December 13, Hebbal police arrested two men near V. Naganahalli railway track. They found the duo selling ganja from a two-wheeler. Police seized 2.93 kg of ganja and the vehicle, worth ₹2.09 lakh. The accused were reportedly buying ganja cheaply and selling it at higher prices. Both have been charged under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act and sent to judicial custody. Police said, “Further investigation is under way to trace the source of the contraband and identify others involved in the network.” Separately, on December 11, Kengeri police arrested another person near the helipad close to Kengeri Satellite Club. They seized 560 grams of ganja worth about ₹60,000. Police noted, “The accused was allegedly supplying ganja to construction workers and local youth.” This person, too, is now in judicial custody with a case filed under the NDPS Act. Further inquiry is ongoing.
