Two men were stabbed to death in Bhadravathi's Jai Bhim Nagara on Friday evening. The victims were identified as Kiran, 25, and Manjunath, 65. Police said the attack was linked to a love affair. Nandish, a Bhadravathi resident, had eloped with Shrushthi two days earlier. On Friday, they returned to town, and in front of police, Shrushthi said she would stay with a friend, disappointing her family. Both Nandish and Shrushthi belong to the same caste and are adults. Later, a group including Shrushthi’s family attacked Kiran, accusing him of supporting the couple. Manjunath tried to stop the attackers but was also seriously injured and died. Shivamogga SP G.K. Mithun Kumar told the media that the Bhadravathi Old Town Police arrested five people in connection with the murders.
